Role Description

What is a Community Care Worker?

As a Community Care Worker, you will be supporting adults within our Community (Walker Byker, Jesmond, Heaton and Wallsend) help to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Each service user requires different support and day to day you could be helping with tasks such as:

  • Personal Care
  • Food Preparation
  • Medication administration
  • Shopping and domestic support
  • Support to attend appointments or social and physical activities

Are you what we are looking for?

To become a Care Worker with St Anthony’s, experience is not required. We will provide you with full training.

However, you do need to have the right values. To be a good Care Worker you should be able to demonstrate that you are caring, patient, kind, trustworthy and committed to working with vulnerable adults. You also need to be punctual, dependable and have excellent communication skills.

A career in care is very rewarding and allows you to make a difference to someone’s life everyday.

About

Hours of Work

Our Home Care service runs 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 7.00am to 11.00pm. Our busy periods are from 7am-1pm and 3pm-9pm.

We are looking for Care Workers who can work between these hours and we offer guaranteed hours contracts for both full time and part time positions.

Alternate weekend working is required.

Job Details

  • £13.45 per hour
  • Enhanced bank holiday pay
  • Annual uniform allowance
  • Paid Travel Time & Travel Costs reimbursed
  • Paid 3 week mandatory induction training and paid ongoing training for continuing professional development.
  • Mileage rates (per mile) 55p for cars, 20p for electric bikes and pedal bikes.
  • Eligibility for a Blue Light retail discount card.
